Indeed.com - Probably the most widely used job search website. You can customize your search results based on the type of job you are looking for. The best strategy I’ve discovered is to upload your resume to the website so potential employers can find you faster. Customizable job listings can be sent via email to you each day. After uploading your resume, you can apply to most jobs in the app by one or two clicks. Who said the job search process had to be stressful?

Monster.com - Another prevalent job search website that searches for jobs all across the country. When you first visit the website, it will ask you to enable your location. This will give you results closer to your residence. The other various factors typical of job search sites are here as well, such as salary information, resume upload, and career advice. You can download themobile app to apply to jobs from virtually anywhere. The faster you apply, the more likely you will get a potential interview for your dream job.

Wnyjobs.com - The Western New York has plenty of job openings for those looking for work. This site focuses on job listings solely in Western New York. Resume upload, daily job listings, and career guidance are available. Employers looking for the right candidate can also create a profile and submit job openings. Easy contact with potential hires makes the process much more simple than the old days of filling out numerous paper applications.

Niagara's Worksource One - Located right down the street from Niagara Falls Public Library, inside The Trott Access Center, Worksource One has a plethora of resources for job seekers. Career counseling, interview practice, classroom assistance, and much more. Visit their website today for helping with getting your next job. 

LinkedIn - Social media isn’t just for catching up on what your favorite musicians or celebrities are up to. LinkedIn is a website solely for career minded people looking to widen their professional network. Creating a profile is easy. You can design things to work for you. Try it out today and watch your career take off!

Usajobs.gov - The Federal Government’s official employment website, you will find jobs here located around the world. After creating a profile, you can customize your profile to receive alerts based on your desired job preferences

Resumes - are the key to getting any job. You need to show your experience in a clear and logical order, letting a potential employer know you are qualified for that specific job. The previous link will take you to a list of materials in the Niagara Falls Public Library catalog. You can check these out and use them to prepare your resume. Make sure to use the proper format or the employer won’t even consider your application.

Brainfuse.com - How does live resume, interview, and job coaching sound? Brainfuse has all of those for aspiring job seekers. After creating an account, you can take advantage of these resources.

New York State Department of Civil Service  - The Civil Service Exam is required for certain jobs in New York State. Examination dates and times are listed at the link. Both state and local examinations are available for interested applicants.

Niagara County Civil Service  - Much like the previous entry, the Niagara County Department of Civil Service will have announcements specifically for Niagara County. Prospective job seekers can research exam dates and times at this website.

Occupational Outlook Handbook  - The United States Bureau of Labor keeps detailed statistics for many different occupations. Before you apply, take a look here to get an idea of the market for your desired career field. While your aspirations might be worthy, applying to a job where few people are hired yearly isn’t very prudent. Lots of useful statistics are available.

Coursera - Future-proof your career through thousands of free, online upskilling programs.

The New York State Department of Labor is partnering with Coursera, the leading online training provider. Through Coursera, you will have access to nearly 4,000 programs across high-growth industries and can hone skills in data science, business, and technology. Many of these programs are pathways to certifications, professional certificates and can help elevate your career. These programs are developed in partnership with top universities around the globe based on current business needs.

Just make sure you apply to legitimate websites. Unfortunately, there are scammers out there trying to access your personal information for nefarious reasons.
