Passport Acceptance ServiceNiagara Falls Public Library is proud to have been designated a Passport Acceptance Facility by the Department of State. Below you'll find information on our service hours, making appointments, new applications, renewals, fees, photos and what to bring.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Our role as a Passport Acceptance Facility is to accept your paperwork and send it on to the Department of State. THIS IS NOT A SAME-DAY SERVICE: You will NOT walk out the door with a passport. The Department of State states the following regarding processing times: Our processing times begin the day we receive an application, not the day it is mailed. With this in mind, the service times are as follows: Routine: 8 to 11 weeks* Expedited: Costs an extra $60. Takes 5 to 7 weeks.* *Processing times begin the day we receive your application at a passport agency or center, not the day you mail your application or apply. For faster mailing times, customers may opt to pay for 1-2 day delivery service for applications mailed to Passport Services and for the mailing of their new passport. Customers who have a life-or-death emergency or urgent travel within 3 business days should visit travel.state.gov for more information. Visit the official U.S. Passport website at travel.state.gov.
