Week 6
Niagara Falls by P.C. Flynn, 1874 “But few recall the advent to the village of Mr. Flynn, who was born in Ireland…At an early age he showed merit as an artist and, was, in his time, one of the men most talked about in the world of art…In Niagara Falls he found a haven that coincided well with his fancies. Nature was an open book for him, and he proved to be an ardent devoted student. The falls he conveyed to canvas with a master hand, and in a quaint little shop in Main street, right in the middle of a row of art emporiums, with curios on one side of his place and an expert photographer on the other, the artist worked the while and gave to the tourists a lasting impression of their visit.” Read more about the artist here: https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/152662922/patrick-c-flynn |
